The Daily Stars
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 12 June 2026
The Daily Stars (thedailystars.com) takes the privacy of birth data seriously. Readings only work if you trust us with personal details, so this policy says plainly what we collect, why, and what we never do with it.
What we collect
- Birth details: name, date of birth, and optionally birth time, birth place, and gender. These are the inputs every reading is calculated from.
- Email address: used to deliver your reading, sign you in with a magic link, and, if you subscribed to updates, send our newsletter. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link.
- Saved people: if you add another person for a compatibility reading, we store the details you enter about them. Only add people whose details you may lawfully share.
- Purchase records: which products you bought and when. Card details are handled entirely by Stripe; they never touch our servers.
- Technical basics: the cookies and local storage described below, and standard server logs.
What we use it for
To calculate and deliver your readings, keep your library and saved people available across devices when you sign in, process payments, send the emails you asked for, and keep the service secure. We do not sell your data, and we do not share birth data with advertisers.
Who processes it for us
- Vercel: hosts the website.
- Supabase: stores accounts, readings, and saved people.
- Stripe: processes payments.
- Klaviyo: sends email you have opted into.
- Anthropic: when a reading is written live, the computed chart facts and first name are sent to the Claude model to compose the text. This data is not used to train models.
Cookies and local storage
We use cookies for signing you in and for remembering that you have unlocked your first reading. Your browser's local storage keeps a working copy of your readings and saved people on your device. We do not run third-party advertising trackers.
How long we keep it
Account data, readings, and saved people are kept while your account exists. Delete a saved reading and it is removed from our database. If you want your whole account and its data deleted, email us and we will remove it.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to processing, and withdraw consent to marketing at any time. Email hello@thedailystars.com and we will respond within one month. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will flag it on the site. The date at the top shows the current version. See also our Terms of Service and Refund Policy.
